OWLClaw

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how LegacyShiftAI LLC handles information in OWLClaw, a voice-first AI companion app for children ages 5 to 10 and their families. This policy applies to OWLClaw on Android, iPhone, iPad, the OWLClaw website, and the cloud services that support the app.

OWLClaw should be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian. By setting up OWLClaw or allowing a child to use it, the parent or guardian consents to the collection, use, and processing described in this policy.

Information OWLClaw Collects

OWLClaw does not require a public child account, social profile, or public username. The app collects and processes only the information needed to operate, personalize, secure, and improve the OWLClaw experience.

Child profile and setup information may include the child's first name or nickname, age, selected Ollie character, language, app theme, parent settings, voice input settings, and similar preferences.

Conversation information may include messages typed by the user, text recognized from speech, Ollie's responses, selected play mode, challenge answers, story content, and recent conversation context used to keep Ollie's replies coherent.

Personalization notes may include limited local notes created from conversations, such as interests, recent topics, achievements, learning preferences, and short facts that help Ollie respond in an age-appropriate and familiar way.

Image information may include image prompts, generated images, coloring pages, saved in-app image history, and related local image metadata.

Voice information may include microphone input while the microphone feature is being used, speech-to-text results, text sent for voice playback, and temporary audio files created so Ollie can speak.

App usage and device information may include a random installation ID, feature usage events, mode selections, quota counts, subscription or entitlement status, crash reports, diagnostics, operating system version, app version, device type, timestamps, network request status, server log information, internet IP address observed by servers, and similar technical information.

Purchase information may include subscription status, trial status, renewal status, product identifiers, transaction identifiers, store region, and entitlement information handled through Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat. OWLClaw does not receive full payment card numbers.

Where Information Is Stored

Most OWLClaw information is stored locally on the family's device using app storage, local databases, and device settings. This includes child profile details, chat history, app settings, generated images saved inside the app, parent PIN settings, quota state, and local personalization information.

Online features require some information to be sent through OWLClaw's Cloud Run proxy and to trusted service providers. This may include conversation text, recent context, child profile context needed for personalization, image prompts, generated image requests, voice playback text, random installation ID, subscription tier, and technical request information.

If a parent or user saves an OWLClaw image to the device gallery or Photos library, that saved image is stored by the device operating system and may also be handled by the family's gallery, photo backup, or cloud photo settings.

Speech And Voice

OWLClaw requests microphone permission so children can talk to Ollie. On iPhone and iPad, speech recognition uses Apple's microphone and speech recognition systems. On Android, speech recognition uses the Android or Google speech recognition service available on the device. OWLClaw receives the recognized text and uses it as the child's message to Ollie.

OWLClaw does not intentionally keep a library of raw microphone recordings. Recognized speech text may be saved in local chat history and may be sent through OWLClaw's cloud services when online replies are requested.

For voice playback, OWLClaw sends Ollie's response text through supported voice services so Ollie can speak. Free voice playback uses Google Cloud Text-to-Speech. Premium voice playback uses Groq Orpheus voice generation through OWLClaw's Cloud Run proxy. Temporary audio files may be created for playback and cache handling.

Third-Party Services

OWLClaw uses trusted third-party services to provide the app, online AI features, voice, image generation, subscriptions, analytics, crash reporting, app distribution, and platform permissions.

OWLClaw Cloud Run proxy receives app requests, forwards requests to AI and media providers, applies quota and tier rules, and helps keep provider API keys out of the mobile apps.

Groq receives conversation text, recent conversation context, child profile context needed for personalization, and premium voice text in order to generate Ollie's responses and premium voice audio.

Google Cloud Text-to-Speech receives Ollie's response text in order to generate free voice audio.

Runware receives image prompts and related generation settings in order to create illustrations and coloring pages.

Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics receive app usage events, crash reports, diagnostics, app version, device type, and similar technical information. OWLClaw does not use Firebase advertising identifiers for behavioral advertising.

RevenueCat receives subscription, trial, purchase, restore, entitlement, product, and app user identifier information needed to manage premium access across Apple App Store and Google Play purchases.

Apple App Store, Google Play, Apple platform services, Android platform services, and Google platform services handle app distribution, updates, device permissions, speech recognition, purchases, subscriptions, security, crash diagnostics, and platform-level telemetry according to their own policies.

OWLClaw does not use third-party advertising SDKs, does not show behavioral advertising to children, and does not sell children's personal information.

OWLClaw does not ask for or intentionally collect precise location, contacts, calendar, camera photos, health information, biometric information, or government identification. The app may request permission to save generated images to the device gallery or Photos library, but it does not need to read the family's photo library to provide the core OWLClaw experience.

How Information Is Used

We use information to let children talk with Ollie and receive AI responses; personalize Ollie's replies using age, name or nickname, interests, learning style, and recent context; generate stories, images, coloring pages, voices, jokes, safe-space responses, and educational challenges; remember app preferences and parent settings; manage free and premium access, image quotas, voice tiers, trials, purchases, and subscriptions; save and display local chat and gallery history; maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve reliability; respond to parent privacy requests and support inquiries; and meet legal, platform, and store obligations.

Children's Privacy

OWLClaw is designed for children ages 5 to 10 and their families. We collect only the information needed to operate the app, personalize the experience, provide requested online features, maintain subscriptions, protect the service, and support families.

OWLClaw does not allow public child-to-child communication, public profiles, social posting, behavioral advertising, or the sale of children's personal information.

Parents and guardians should supervise children's use of OWLClaw, especially online AI conversations and generated images. AI systems can make mistakes, so OWLClaw includes safety handling but should not replace parent judgment, medical care, emergency services, or professional advice.

Parent Choices And Rights

Parents and guardians may review, delete, or refuse further collection of their child's information.

To delete local OWLClaw data, use the app's reset controls where available, clear the app's storage in device settings, or uninstall OWLClaw. Deleting the app or clearing app storage removes local child profile data, local chat history, local settings, local gallery metadata, and locally stored generated images inside the app.

Images saved separately to the device gallery or Photos library must be deleted from the device gallery, Photos app, photo backup service, or operating system storage controlled by the family.

To ask for help reviewing, deleting, or stopping further online processing of a child's information, email elite@legacyshiftai.com. We may need to verify that the requester is the child's parent or guardian before acting on the request.

Parents can manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Purchase records handled by Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat may be retained as required for billing, fraud prevention, accounting, legal compliance, and platform operations.

Data Retention

Local app information stays on the family's device until it is deleted by the family, reset in the app, cleared through device settings, or removed by uninstalling OWLClaw.

Information processed through OWLClaw's cloud services is retained only as needed for providing the service, security, abuse prevention, debugging, quota management, subscription management, legal obligations, and support. Third-party service providers retain information according to their own policies and service terms.

Crash reports, analytics events, purchase records, server logs, and quota records may be retained for longer periods where needed for reliability, security, fraud prevention, accounting, legal compliance, and store requirements.

Security

OWLClaw uses HTTPS for network requests. Provider API keys are kept on OWLClaw's Cloud Run proxy instead of inside the mobile apps. The app uses a random installation ID for quota and service management rather than an advertising ID. No security method is perfect, but we work to limit collection, keep sensitive provider credentials off-device, and use reasonable safeguards to protect information.

International Processing

OWLClaw and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where our providers, cloud infrastructure, app stores, and platform services operate. These countries may have data protection laws different from those in your country.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as OWLClaw changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
